§ Apps The workshop · iOS-first

Apps worth opening
every day,
made by a small studio.

We're building a short list of consumer iOS apps with the same posture as the studio itself: quiet, honest, useful. Nothing has shipped yet. Watch the workshop, or get the email when the first release is ready.

§ 01 How we build

Software
made on purpose.

We work in quarters. Each one is a small, ship-or-shelve bet. Not a roadmap with twelve features fighting for the same week.

i. Listen

Pay attention before drawing.

A new app starts with a notebook, not a Figma file. Who is this for, when do they reach for it, what is the smallest version that earns its place on a home screen.

ii. Prototype

One real flow, end to end.

Before the marketing site, before the icon, before the name. If the core loop isn't pleasant on the third day of using it, the app doesn't get built.

iii. Refine

Cut the parts that don't matter.

Most app screens are 30% real estate fighting for attention. We remove first, add last. Type and spacing do more work than icons.

iv. Ship

Release the version we use ourselves.

No private beta theatre. TestFlight goes out when we'd be happy paying for it. Then we live with it for a quarter before adding anything new.

§ 02 The workshop

In the workshop, not the store.

What you're seeing

Names and order will change. We post a short build note when something moves from sketch to TestFlight. No screenshots until we'd be proud of the screenshot.
